Improved offense not enough to whip Colleyville

Ennis battled neck and neck for the first half with Colleyville Heritage in boys basketball on Tuesday. After taking the lead eight times in the first two quarters, the Lions fell behind at the half, 32-31, and never threatened after intermission. The winless Cougars broke the game wide open in the third by outscoring the hosts by a 26-12 count and coasted to a 73-57 victory at the Ensign Gym. Ennis, 1-3, opened the season with a 56-41 road win against Samuell (0-4), before dropping their next three outings: 61-46 at home to Red Oak, 80-37 at Midlothian Heritage, and the third to Colleyville Heritage.
