Italy won their fourth game in a row, 28-14, over Dawson (6-4, 3-2), but still need to beat Marlin to clinch the District 8-2A championship in HC Craig Horn’s third year.
Tied at 14 at the half last Friday, the Gladiators (7-1, 4-0) defense then stuffed the Bulldogs over the final two quarters. Dawson entered the game at 6-3 and had outscored their last three opponents, 123-14.
