Italy must slow down BG ground game

New Head Coach Craig Horn and his Gladiators had their hands full at Palmer. This week they take on red-hot Blooming Grove (2-0), also on the road, with a 7 p.m. kickoff. The Lions hammered Cross Roads, 60-14, then did likewise at Kerens, 43-6, and are heavily favored to make it 3-0 this week when a young Italy (0-1) squad comes to town. Horn and his Old Gold Knights will give the Lions ground game, which averages 292, their main focus, hoping to force them to the air. Noah Garcia, 6’0, 190, leads the Lions with 225 yards rushing while QB Carson Rucks has 150 and Joe Velasquez another 119. Blooming Grove has nine rushing TDs through two games.
