KITNA OUT as ‘hachie coach
Waxahachie ISD announced Friday that Jon Kitna resigned as head football coach and boys athletic director for Waxahachie High School “to pursue other opportunities.” Kitna coached the Indians football team to 20 wins and 13 losses in three seasons, as well as an appearance in the 2018 UIL playoffs, in which the Waxahachie team was ousted in the third round. “Waxahachie football made great strides under Coach Kitna’s leadership,” said Waxahachie ISD Superintendent Jeremy Glenn via a statement released on Waxahachie ISD’s Facebook page. “In his time at Waxahachie ISD, Coach Kitna developed young men of character and will be missed. WISD will look to move forward building on the foundation Coach Kitna and his staff have laid.” Kitna thanked Glenn and the WISD school board for his three years in Waxahachie a post to his son, Jordan’s, Twitter account Friday afternoon. He also praised his players and defended his merits on the field. Read this story and more in your Weekend edition of The Ennis News. Be informed, subscribe today!
