Lady Lions have life, stun University, 63-55


Ennis had their backs to the ball on Tuesday. They were on the road against the district-leaders in Waco versus University High School. They played like the two-time defending league champions they are in stunning the Lady Trojans, 63-55, to remain in the hunt for the fourth and final playoff berth with two games left. Senior Tyquanna Ross led three players in double-figures as the Lady Lions, now 16-18 overall, improved their District 14-5A mark to 5-5. They hosted Cleburne on Friday night and conclude the regular season at Midlothian on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 6:15 p.m. They likely had to win both to earn a spot in the post-season. Cleburne won the first meeting, 71-51, while Midlo held off Team Maroon, 66-56. Ross poured in 26 points, including four triples, while Paige Lemonia and Tydra Dickerson netted 11 and 10 points respectively. Tiana Murray-Lewis added 7 points and 7 rebounds.
