Lenz-Selvera wins TAAF state in two events

Tye Chandler, sports@ennisdailynews.com

It’s been a productive summer for incoming Ennis High senior Tori Lenz-Selvera, but she really accomplished something notable last week.

Continuing what’s been a great athletic year for her, Tori Lenz-Selvera won state in a couple of distance races during TAAF competition in Waco.

While competing at the 2011 Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF) Games of Texas at Waco’s Hart-Patterson Track and Field Complex, Tori came up huge to win state in a pair of events — the 1600-meter run and the 3200-meter run. Although she’s advanced to TAAF state during each summer of her high school career, a sixth-place finish in the 1600-meter run in 2010 was her previous best performance.
