When Keith Howard began this, his 30th year as head coach of Ennis Tennis, he told The Ennis News the teams to beat in district rackets were Corsicana, Midlothian and Kaufman. His early read on talent in the league had Ennis and Heritage battling for fourth place. Corsicana did earn the crown for tops in swinging strings, but oh my, how Howard’s team has risen.
