Lions fade after sizzling start

In a tale of two halves, the Ennis boys basketball team built a 43-28 halftime lead, then went cold during a second half collapse to Waco La Vega, 72-60. The Lions were blistering hot out of the gate, pouring in 25 first quarter points. They steadily went south the rest of the way, scoring 18, 10 and 7 over the next three quarters. The visiting Class 4A Pirates, now 10-8 overall, rolled easily after intermission. They outscored the Lions, 44-17, as neither team showed any signs of their performance from the first two quarters.
