Mo-mentous effort scalps Tribe, 14-4

Ennis pounded 17 hits, including a three-run homer, and two pitchers combined to stifle

Waxahachie during a 14-4 victory on a blustery Tuesday night.

It was the sixth consecutive win for the Lady Lions, who boosted their overall record to 11-9

and their District 14-5A mark to 7-1.

“The team is playing their best ball of the year,” said head coach Kendall Newton. “Mo

Monreal was solid in the circle and crushed that ball, didn’t she?” Monreal (MAHN-reel), who

will sign a binding national letter of intent with MidAmerica Nazarene University on

Wednesday, held the Tribe scoreless in five of the six innings she pitched to raise her record

to 5-1.
