One and done for Bi-District softball

All four playoff teams in District 14 will meet the top four from District 13 on Thursday in the bi-district round of the Class 5A softball playoffs. With an option to play a best-of-three series, instead, each will be a one-game, winner-take-all encounter on Thursday.

Ennis (17-11), who finished second for the first time in five years, will host third place Dallas Adamson (13-4) at 7 p.m. The teams also met in the playoffs in 2015. Lady Lions head coach Kendal Newton has senior right-hander Morelia Monreal (8-3) scheduled as the starting pitcher.

Legacy (23-4), the D-14 champions, are slated to meet the fourth place team in D-13, Dallas Samuell (6-7), at 6 p.m. in Arlington at the Workman Softball Complex.

Molina (17-7), located near Mt. View College in Southwest Dallas, wears the D-13 crown. They meet at Waxahachie (14-10) at 7 p.m.

The last contest is slated for 6:30 p.m. between second place Seagoville (19-7) and D-14 third place finisher Timberview (14-11) at Cedar Hill.
