Palmer Basketball Senior Night

Tuesday night, Feb. 16, was senior night in Palmer for the boys varsity basketball team.

The three seniors were honored before the Bulldogs’ last district game against Maypearl. The Palmer team was

in a position to knock Maypearl out of their four-way tie for the last position to make a playoff run, but came up

short in a 46-34 loss.

The three seniors were Luis Garcia, Jessi Ortiz and Russell McAnally.

“All three seniors have overcome a lot during this season, and their careers,” coach Ryan Fortenberry said.

“They always compete hard and give their best effort.”

McAnally averaged eight points and nine rebounds per game this year. Luis Garcia put up an average of five

points and five rebounds in each game. Jessi Ortiz chipped in three points and three rebounds per game.
