Palmer, Kaufman reach state in 7-on-7

Palmer has returned to the Texas 7-on-7 state flag football tournament this weekend in College Station. Quarterback Adrian Cisneros, who will be a junior this fall, hopes to lead the Bulldogs past Ty Mitchell’s success four years ago. The athletic Cisneros, who is as much a threat running as he is throwing, paced Palmer to a 5-5 record in football last fall. He returns with hopes to play a full season behind center. His strong build allowed him to start last season as a running back and at linebacker. Palmer is one of several area teams who have qualified for the three-day event which will take place at the Veterans Park and Athletic Complex at 3101 Harvey Road. Each team has paid a $400 entry fee and will be guaranteed four games. The first three games will occur in pool play, where four teams meet one another in a round robin format. Games are scheduled for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, June 28-30. Read stories like this and more in your latest edition of The Ennis News. Be informed, subscribe today!
