Palmer reaps All-District honors after 7-3 season


Keep this up and the small town with a penchant for producing very good baseball teams will have to share the attention with its growing football program. Palmer has over 2,000 residents in its quiet corner of Eastern Ellis County had another season in which the Black-and-Gold made plenty of racket on the gridiron. Since the arrival on Head Coach Don Waddle (five years ago), the Bulldogs have won their first district championship ever, going 8-2 in 2014. This fall they contended for another before settling for a playoff berth following a 7-3 mark. When league coaches sat down to determine who were the best players, the Bulldogs had five chosen among the short list of Superlatives, including Caleb and Austin Hernandez, Dylan Hernandez, Ben Waddle and Damon Herrera – the last two returning next year.
