Before they could get anything going Friday night in Blooming Grove, the Palmer Bulldogs found themselves down 28-0 midway through the second quarter. The rest of the game was Palmer trying to play catch-up, but the night ended with a 41-14 Blooming Grove victory.
Juanye Pyburn, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound back, who Palmer coach Don Waddle says is likely the district MVP, went off on Palmer. The running back, who finished the night playing quarterback, had 19 carries for 241 yards and five touchdowns, including the first three scores of the game.
