Palmer to construct indoor practice facility

Palmer Independent School District, now that the board of trustees have approved the budget and plans, will begin construction on a new 12,000 square foot indoor practice facility. The project, which was designed by Huckabee, an architect company in Fort Worth, will cost $1,265,000. Construction will begin with groundbreaking in approximately a month, according to Superintendent Kevin Noack. Mart, Inc., of Irving, will build the facility, a project that it is expected to take five months to complete. It will be located adjacent to the current football field house near the southwest end zone corner. The facility will be used by students involved in athletics as well as the marching band, groups and others as scheduling allows.
