Redning releases new Ennis XC schedule


Ennis cross country athletes have begun summer conditioning for the upcoming season that begins in eleven weeks. Like Tom Petty’s Runnin’ Down a Dream, the mystery of what will happen during the schedule will surely have Ennis harriers goin’ wherever it leads. Veteran Head Coach Lonnie Redning, who is entering his 22nd year, has released the 2019 cross country itinerary. It includes six high school meets and another five for the Ennis Junior High team. Tori Lenz is beginning her second year as head coach. The highlight of the schedule is the 19th annual Lions Den Invitational. Teams are challenged by the course set at Jaycee Park, which features one large hill and the terrain around Old City Lake. The event is scheduled for Sept. 21 and is open to the public.
