SAGU tops Wesleyan, 42-7

Keyed by a 57-yard interception return at the end of the first half, Southwestern Assemblies of God University extended a 21-0 football lead en route to a 42-7 triumph over Texas Wesleyan at Farrington Field in Fort Worth. The Lions, now 3-1, held Wesleyan to 201 yards while forcing four turnovers. The turning point for SAGU was Maliek Golden’s pick 6 with three seconds left in the first half. Golden weaved his way through the Rams to break open a tighter-than-expected 14-0 game. Three quick scores after intermission erased any doubt the host Rams (0-4) would threaten.
