The way I see it

As the rain came to Lion Memorial Stadium on Friday night, so did the Wildcats scoring. Sulphur Springs came to town with one mission – beat them Lions and they accomplished that while improving their record to 6-0. The Wildcats jumped on the scoreboard first with a TD run from QB D’Corian Young. He went on to go 8-of-15 passing for 203 yards with one TD and ran 7 times for 39 yards. The senior showed poise all night as he moved the chains. Ennis responded with a heavy dose of James Harris on the next series to get the Lions down to the 8-yard line. From there Dyllan Santos ran it in to tie the score at 7-7. The Wildcats answered on their next drive with a key third-and-12 pass from Young to Austin Dodd that kept the drive alive. Three plays later, running back Caden Davis scored from the two to give the ‘Cats a 14-7 lead. A Harris fumble on third-and-5 at the 43 gave the ball back to the visitors. For the only time all night the defense prevented a TD. Read stories like this and more in your latest edition of The Ennis News. Be informed, subscribe today!
