Playing defense as though on a chainbreak, Ennis completely shackled Corsicana, 28-7, at Lion Memorial Stadium on Friday to give life to the Lions playoff hopes. A week after the Tigers, now 8-2, clinched the District 8-5A championship by thrashing Forney, 63-24, gaining 452 yards rushing in the process, Ennis did a number on the Tigers to extend their winning streak in the series to five years-in-a-row. The Lions, now 4-4 overall and 4-3 in league games, are tied with Royse City (5-4 / 4-3) for the fourth and final playoff position. Ennis owns the tie-breaker over the Bulldogs based on a 26-7 road win the first Friday in October.
