Tribe names Alexander new football coach

New Waxahachie head coach Todd Alexander, left, and Waxahachie Athletic Director Greg Reed pose for a photo at Thursday’s Waxahachie ISD board meeting. Waxahachie stayed within the Tribe family when selecting longtime assistant Todd Alexander as the new head coach of Indians football. The 46 year old native of and graduate of Waxahachie becomes the first of both to take the reins of the program after being introduced by WISD superintindent Dr. Jeremy Glenn and then approved in a 7-0 vote by the school board of trustees on Thursday.
Alexander has coached for over 20 years on the staffs of Thomas Brooks, David Ream and for the first year during Jon Kitna’s three-year stint as head coach. “Coach Alexander has experience coaching at every level in Waxahachie ISD and has proven himself to be an effective coach who helps students succeed – not only in athletics, but in life,” said Dr. Jeremy Glenn, Waxahachie ISD Superintendent. “We are fortunate to hire such a positive ambassador for Waxahachie High School and its student-athletes.” Read stories like this and more in your latest edition of The Ennis News.
