UIL and FSSW team up

Texas high school football looks to get some more air time beginning in August. This week, Fox Sports Southwest announced it would be partnering with University Interscholastic League to bring “Texas Football Days” to viewers as part of a test run to see if the program garners popularity. It will launch Aug. 26 with a preview of Texas high school football. That premiere will air at 7 p.m. to kick off a full week of high school gridiron coverage. The week of football will conclude with the airing of a live doubleheaders on Aug. 31 – Brock at Brownwood beginning at 5:30 p.m. and Lufkin at Longview at 8:30 p.m. According to a report in the Houston Chronicle, Friday nigh games had been off limits to television broadcasts until 2017.
