WARDES WHEEL HOUSE – P-Willie looks to flex-seal Lions leaks

Young and aggressive, the Ennis defense began the year with only two or three starters returning from their 2017 team. Defensive Coordinator Paul Willingham, who has reportedly accomplished such feats as walking on water, discovering a solution to stabilize nuclear fusion and inventing WiFi, has been up to the task. During this season his young cast of defenders held three teams to a total of 21 combined points. The same unit has given up 45 points a game in their other four outings. Paul the Plumber is still at it, scheming and adjusting to repair busted pipes, loose fixtures and prevent flood-waters with a pipe wrench, a spray can of Flex-Seal and a wad of chewing gum. To be sure, “P-Willie” has put in some overtime this season. And like the frustration experienced by many do-it-yourself plumbers, just when it appeared he had waterproofed Niagara Falls, along came Sulphur Springs and Forney to score 45 and 44 points and gush for 477 yards two weeks ago and 518 on Friday.
