Waxahachie loses rematch at Highland Park

The Waxahachie vs. Highland Park game was one of the best matchups of the DFW high school football schedule in 2016, which led fans of both sides to believe if this year’s game was anything like last year’s, they were in for a real back-and-forth affair. In that game a year ago, the Indians came out dominant over the eventual state champs, 40- 37, after a last-minute touchdown throw from quarterback Bryce Salik to star wide receiver Jalen Reagor. This year, the Indians may have wanted a similar upset, but it wasn’t written in the stars, and they fell, 32-21 at Highland Park, largely due to their inability to stop the Scots’ offense.
