Alternative to Bullet Train pitched again

An alternative plan to a Dallas to Houston bullet train is being pitched once again as operators say it’s a better for Texas. The train includes a passenger train network that includes the Interstate 35 corridor. SNCF America president Alain Leray said the state needs a train system that instead of creating a link creates a network on rail lines. Maryland based SCNF America, a branch of the French National Railways pitched its “Texas T-boned” idea to the Federal Railroad Administration in 2008 and 2016. The system calls for a higher speed rail service of 125 mph. Leray visited Dallas, Austin and Waco earlier this month where he also filed eight pages of commentary on the Federal Draft Environment Statement for the Dallas-to Houston line. However so far, the railroad administration has proceeded to work with Texas Central Partners on a Dallas-to-Houston line, a high-speed rail that features speeds up 210 mph and uses Japanese technology.
