DPS refutes reports of mass office closures


AUSTIN — Officials wih the The Texas Department of Public Safety issued a response this week to clarify reports that it has plans to close 87 driver’s license facillites that are low performing. The Texas Department of Public Safety is not implementing any plan for mass closures of driver license offices across Texas, the statement reads.
As part of the Sunset review process of DPS, the Texas Sunset Advisory Commission shows diffrent findings in an April meeting. Regarding that specific finding, DPS developed a response that identified potential offices for closure and submitted it for consideration by the Sunset Advisory Commission.
