Helicopter pilot injured in Navarro County crash

A helicopter pilot was injured last week in a crash in Navarro County, officials say. Investigators are still looking into what caused the crash. The helicopter lost power while the pilot was trying to land, according to preliminary information. The two-seat helicopter went down in a wooded area, Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Lonny Haschel said. Troopers responded about 6 p.m. to the scene last Thursday near U.S. Highway 287 between State Highway 309 and CR3320, not far from Corsicana. The pilot, whose name was not released, was taken by air ambulance with minor injuries to an area hospital, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Lynn Lunsford said. No one else was on board.
