Police evacuated the Geneva Inn and shut down Lampasas Street Monday morning after a bomb scare.
Officers responded to a report of bullet holes in the wall of a hotel room when one of them discovered what they believed to be an explosive device. The device consisted of a gasoline tank with diesel fuel inside, connected to a cell phone via exposed wires. Car parts and shotgun shells rested atop the gas tank.
Police Chief John Erisman examined the device and determined it was not a threat.
