A job well done


It is often overlooked, especially when it is expected, and when it is considered Job One. This task, however, is at the top of an elected school board: hiring a superintendent. They have plenty of responsibilities to fulfill throughout the school year, though one stands out more than the others, the hiring of the superintendent over the school district. This time, however, what normally is a three-to-four month process took much, much longer. The Ennis Independent School District, the largest employer in town with roughly 700+ employees, recently completed what became almost a year to secure the successor to Dr. John Chapman, III, who departed for the same position at the larger Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD.
