Johnny Mack Woodard

Johnny Mack Woodard, age 80, went to meet his Lord and Savior on June 8, 2023, at Ennis Care Center in Ennis, Texas, after battling Parkinson’s for many years. Johnny was born April 25, 1943, in Waxahachie, Texas, to A.C. Woodard and Frances McAlpin Woodard. He graduated Midlothian High School in 1960 and married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Jane Matthews, in 1962.

After moving to California for a few years they settled in Ennis, where they made their home before Nancy’s passing in 2003. During that time, he owned Woodard’s Garage with his brother Charlie and raised two children.

Johnny was an avid bowler who enjoyed being on the travel league with Ennis All Star Bowl. He was a prankster at heart and loved to tease anyone and everyone around him. He found love again when he married Mary Newgent in 2004. His retirement years were spent tending to his small hobby farm where he would spend his days mowing on his tractor and taking care of his many goats, cows, chickens, ducks, horses, dogs and cats.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Mary Woodard; daughter, Tara Woodard; stepsons, Billy and wife Brandi Morgan and Mike Morgan of Colorado Springs, CO; stepdaughter, Stacy and husband Thomas McCoy of North Richland Hills and numerous grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
