Wanda Jane Puckett

Wanda Jane Puckett, loving daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and dear friend to many, met her savior on Wednesday, December 6, 2023.

She is preceded in death by parents R.D. and Alma Jane Puckett, and several beloved doggies. She is survived by sister Dorothy Caudle, nieces Monica Walker (husband Mark) and Lorinda Wall (husband Kenneth), and great-nephews Judson Wall (wife Kendra), and Colton Wall.

Wanda was born in Ennis, Texas on November 22, 1945. She moved a number of times throughout childhood due to her father’s work, which undoubtedly shaped her outgoing personality. She ultimately graduated from high school in Duncanville, Texas, but also attended high school in Saint Jo, Texas, where she was band sweetheart and involved in numerous extracurricular activities. She made her home in Irving, Texas until moving to Bedford, Texas a few years ago. Aside from her career as a bookkeeper in the aviation industry, she had numerous hobbies. She loved participating in fishing tournaments, gardening, collecting antiques, country and western dancing, and league bowling. She was handy, crafty, and very giving. She loved being creative and thoughtful when purchasing or making gifts for loved ones. In addition to her family and friends, she also gave to many charities. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan to the end, having just watched the Cowboys - Seahawks game days before leaving us behind. She dearly loved all of the “puppies” as she called them, that were her companions through the years.

A celebration of life service will be held at J.E. Keever Mortuary in Ennis, Texas on December 18, 2023 at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at the Rice Cemetery in Rice, Texas.
