Theatre Rocks seeking 18-29 year old to portray nurse

Theatre Rocks Veteran director Bill Rhoten is pursuing a female actress for the leading role in the February premier of “Forever,” a play set in 1941-42. The two-set venue is written and directed by Rhoten.

The offices of the City of Ennis will be closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020. Garbage collection routes will not be run on Monday. The regular garbage collection schedule will resume and City offices will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020.

Alma Community Center will host a Chili Supper on Jan. 8, 2020, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The center is located at 104 Interurban Rd., in Alma. Cost is $7.50 per person. To-Go orders will be available. Anyone in need of daily essentials or who is experiencing homelessness of any kind are invited to Let’s Get Warm Giveaway sponsored by the Local Homeless Coalition in Ellis County. The event is slated for 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at First Baptist Church, 450 E. Hwy 287, in Waxahachie.

Light of Ennis Yard Contest

Its that time of year again! It's the Lights of Ennis Yard Contest. The agents at City Real Estate will be driving the nights away looking for the best yard lights in Ennis. You can call City Real Estate at 972-878-2222 or the Ennis Visitor Center at 972-878-4748 and just leave the address you like to see picked as the best lights in Ennis.
