A local group calling themselves “Friends of Ennis,” has ceased in their efforts to force another election. According to a recent post on social media in light of Mayor Raburn's decision to resign his position in order to run for Ellis County Judge, the group chose to conclude their signature collection efforts.

Tuesday night during a City Commission meeting at City Hall, Mayor Pro Tem Lynda Isbel announced she had resigned her position on October 15.
