Ennis High School students who form the speech and academic team, won their first tournament against other schools over the weekend in Mabank. This year’s squad is short in numbers

It is a problem that is mostly invisible in small towns. In large urban areas like Dallas and Ft. Worth, the problem is much more visible, and budgets are allocated

Ennis is different than many towns in that there are few stories of reputed ghosts connected to the city’s old residences and public buildings.

Since Halloween these days is so often not just about scary stories but also about tales of mayhem and murder, I decided to include a few briefs referencing some local killings from the 1950s that manage to spook even all these years later.

The City of Ennis recently welcomed A’Lara Kaye Smith as Farmers Market and events coordinator.
