Elizabeth Anne “Betty” Wagner, 79, passed away in Ennis, Texas, on Tuesday, September 17, 2019.

Betty was born in Arizona on August 15, 1940 to Theodore H. and Silvia (Poe) Wagner. Betty worked for a short time for Southwestern Life and Conso. Betty owned and operated Mastex for over twenty-five years. She grew up in the Presbyterian Church. She grew up in Arizona and Pennsylvania before the family moved to Ennis in 1955. She graduated from Ennis in 1958. She still had close friends from high school including the “Magnificent Seven Lunch Group”. Betty was a very smart businesswoman that could always hold her own with her two men business partners. She loved her dogs and thought of them as her babies. Her joy was her family, especially her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was known for her quick wit and her weird sense of humor. She would always tell you like it was; you never had to guess what she was thinking. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.

Betty is survived by her sister, Clarissa Smith and husband George; sister-in-law Helen Wagner; nieces: Laura Moreno and husband Mike, Terrye Byrd and husband Brandon, Lacy Johnson and husband Chad, and Dawn Devera; nephews: John Wagner and wife Bonnie, Bret Smith and wife Chelsea, and Ted Wagner, Jr.; Fourteen great nieces and great nephews, along with a host of extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Sylvia Wagner; brothers: Ted L. Wagner and John “Jack” Wagner and niece Debbie Wagner.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 beginning at 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel in Ennis.
