Four baseball players from Ennis, two from Ferris and a Palmer tandem will team up for the Ellis County East All-Stars on Tuesday, June 29, at Waxahachie’s Richards Park. They will take on the West All-Stars, with three from Italy, at 7 p.m.

Senior catcher Nate Aguinaga (5’10, 205), already named All-District in football and basketball, added another piece of hardware when he garnered a share of the Offensive MVP honors. He hit .303 and paced the Jackets with 23 hits and 15 RBI.

A running back, linebacker and receiver in football and a high-scoring guard in baseball, senior Gabe “Golden” Bolden is one of two Bulldogs representing the Ellis County East All-Stars on Tuesday at historic Richards Park in Waxahachie.

Ennis graduate Ricardo Ruiz capped his career with the Lions when he recently accepted a soccer scholarship with Arlington Baptist University. The cat-quick and agile goal-keeper will look to earn playing time for HC Jesus Vazquez. The AB Patriots recruit the Metroplex. They are members of the National Christian College Athletic Association.

Texas fans are familiar with the late Arkansas HC Frank Broyles. His Razorbacks defeated No. 1 Texas in Austin in 1964, a favor returned in 1969 when the Longhorns rallied to defeat the ‘Hogs, 15-14, in a game dubbed the Game of the Century.

Palmer graduate Jaden Lopez, who enjoyed great success for HC Joe Robinson’s Bulldogs, signed a scholarship to pitch for Navarro College. He pitched and caught for four years at Palmer, earning All-District three times.

Working his way up, the 6’4 wide receiver will play his senior season this fall at NCAA Division II Texas A&M University at Kingsville.
