Lady Lions come up short in swan song
Rallying to take an 8-5 lead after five inning, Ennis pitching and defense yielded the game’s final six runs in an 11-8 setback to Red Oak on Tuesday. A win would have clinched second place for the Lady Lions. The highlights of Senior Night were longballs, one by senior catcher Emma Rios (5), her 3rd of the year, and the other, a grand slam in the fifth by Mia Monreal. The team now waits to learn who they will play in the Bi-District playoffs. It is their third consecutive season to make the playoffs.
