Ennis Regional prepared to test for coronavirus

Ennis Regional Medical Center is on high alert and is prepared to respond to anyone seeking testing for the new coronavirus, according to CEO Robert Honeycutt.

In response to Gov. Greg Abbott’s statements on Friday afternoon, ERMC will now have limited access to the hospital, with all walk-ins directed to the Emergency Department entrance. Honeycutt added that current patients will also have restrictions placed on visitors. Only one visitor at a time will be allowed inside and no children will be permitted at all. These will be strictly enforced for safety reasons.

Ennis Regional Medical Center continues to deepen its roots in this area and supplying free physicals to area athletes is an expression of their importance.

Hundreds of junior high and high school athletes must have a physical prior to suiting up and donning their respective school colors. At an estimated $30 per physical, that amount climbs quickly into the thousands when considering Ennis has 300 students playing football.
