A cautious reminder to everyone that school is back in session. That means early morning traffic, vehicles and buses, some with turn signals properly used. Add to that the scurrying of students of all sizes and ages, some darting between cars.

God has been stirring me for the last several years to realize there are many levels in our relationship with Him and that we are to be continually progressing through the stations of the tabernacle on our way to the holy of holies. He desires to give everyone a personal revelation to become more spiritually sensitive, to hear His voice, along with His wisdom to know what is right and wrong. To develop an awareness of His presence, we must invest our time meditating on His word, praying, and interceding in the secret place of intimacy with Him. How can we know Him or what He is saying if we do not talk and walk with Him? To advance in our spiritual journey and become stronger spiritual warriors, we must have the discernment to recognize spirits and a correct interpretation of His written word. In this hour, we are being exposed to constant deception and as we continue moving forward, our ability to know good from evil will be the difference between life and death. God’s grace is the opportunity to abandon our will so that we can embrace His.

Some days, when I’m not sure how everything has gone so terribly wrong in this country, I find myself focusing on the image of the ruler that the Coca-Cola Company gave me when I entered first grade in my small town of southern Alabama.

Covering over 70 counties in just 49 days had Beto O’Rourke as busy as a long-tailed cat in a roomful of rocking chairs. Since he is not in office, he is free as a pointer at a duck farm. He was bound to mess up.

Despite the bad news of a national recession – if we are not in one after two down quarters, we appear destined to be going in that direction – it remains clear that businesses are still hiring. Work is plentiful for those inclined to punch the timeclock.

Through no fault of their own, business owners in Ennis and surrounding communities found themselves in an unforeseen battle that destroyed some of them. Two years ago in February, our town, even our nation, found ourselves walking normally about life.
