Ennis High School 2024 graduate Ellie Wartsbaugh and Eastfield College volleyball team won their third straight national championship, beating Dallas Athletic Conference rival Dallas College Brookhaven, 25-17, 25-14, 25-16 at the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Championship Saturday night at Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Rising after a seventh-place finish in District 183A, the Rice Bulldogs have aspirations for a muchimproved season on the hardwood. Opening with a 53-34 rout of Malakoff Cross Roads was a great debut. HC Tony Burks welcomes a host of returning players from last year’s 6-19 squad, and they showed up big in the first game.
