The Waxahachie School board of trustees voted to approve the contract with Shane Tolleson as the district's new head football coach.

After dropping three of four District 14-5A basketball games, Ennis bounced back to defeat Red Oak, 56-46, on the road on Tuesday, Feb. 2. The Lions entered the game in fifth place, trailing both Joshua and the Hawks.

As confident as holding four aces through nine games, No. 1 ranked Ennis (9-0) was primed until dealt a bad-hand at Midlothian in a second round playoff game.
