Students of Ennis Independent School District began the new semester guarded by licensed police officers at every campus, a response to the 2023 passage of Texas House Bill 3.
EISD Chief of Police Mike Richardson added that five new officers have been hired since H.B. 3 (see below) passed this previous legislation. That brings the staff total to 13.
