Last week, Ellis County Judge Todd Little christened the first-ever board members for Ellis County Emergency Services in Bardwell (District 10) and Alma (Dist. 11).
Approved by local voters on November 5, 2024, area residents will now be provided fire and rescue service. Alma (pop. 419 in 2024) is just SE of Ennis on I-45, while Bardwell (pop. 676) is SW of Ennis on Hwy 34.
