With help from several agencies and a sheriff’s helicopter, the Ennis Police Department arrested the prime suspect in the Aug. 2 shooting death of Joshua Vaughn. Chayce Dowell was apprehended on Thursday afternoon, Aug. 6.
It was the first homicide in Ennis since October of 2016, a span of almost four years. The previous occurred in 2012.
