An Ennis resident, Robert T. Sanders, recently recounted his memory of a disastrous highway accident that happened in Waxahachie when he was 5 years old in 1947.
His memory of the horror of the event is still vivid after nearly 75 years. Sanders’ account of that day also speaks to the leveling, if only temporarily, of the race division that unfortunately existed in that day, particularly in Texas.
