Ellis County Judge Todd Little appointed Justice Louis Ponder to fill the leadership vacancy as County Commissioner of Precinct 3 after Paul Perry passed away on Feb. 11.
In a solemn, March 7 ceremony at the historic County Courthouse in Waxahachie, Ponder was sworn in and signed official paperwork with County Clerk Krystal Valdez present to witness as well as to register Ponder for his new role.
