Virtual public meeting scheduled on proposed improvements to US 287 in Ellis County

The Texas Department of Transportation (Tx-DOT) will host a virtual public meeting beginning Tuesday, April 21, 2020 as part of a feasibility study on proposed improvements to US 287 from State Highway 360 (SH 360) to West Lampasas Street.

Meeting materials, study data, and a narrated video presentation on the proposed project will beavailable until Wed. May 6, 2020 at the following link: http://www.keepitmovingdallas.com/projects/us-highways/us-287-frontage-r.... Comments can be submitted online, via email, phone or mailed to the TxDOT Dallas District office at 4777 East US 80, Mesquite, TX 75150 to the attention of, “Elizabeth Russell, P.E.” All comments must be submitted or postmarked on or before the end date.

The purpose of the study is to consider potential construction of continuous, one-way frontage roads including grade separations and access control along US Highway 287. The project limits extend 32 miles from just east of SH 360 near the city of Mansfield to West Lampasas Street near the city of Ennis. The virtual public meeting presents the recommended alternative. Following the public meeting, the final feasibility study report will be prepared. The feasibility study will be complete in summer 2020.
