Ennis area voters had only minimal races to decide on May 6, one for a seat on the City Commission and another for a School Board Trustee position.
Ward 4 witnessed Shirley Watson defeat challenger Daryl Spence, 73.8 percent to 26.2. The incumbent had a 20-6 vote lead going into Election Day, and went on to win, 31-11. She will continue in office for a third, three-year term.
