Performing With the Band
During halftime of last week’s football game at Mesquite, the Ennis Marching Band took to the field. While they were making a turn from north to south, a duck, perhaps migrating in the same direction, swooped down from above and joined them, barely above their heads. The audience couldn’t help but notice. After reaching the end zone, the feathered fan of the plumes on the band’s hats, was greeted by campus police officer Priscilla Ellington. She warmed the solo flyer in a towel. There was no word if the duck played the kazoo.
