Ennis choir aces fall concert
School Board focuses on campus grades
School Board Trustees of the Ennis Independent School District met Tuesday to discuss a variety of reports and approve initiatives aimed at academic achievement, campus safety, and district operations. Chief among the topics was below-average grades at three campuses; Bowie Elementary, Jack Lummus Intermediate and Ennis Junior High.
Hearing held in City suit against non-profit
An initial hearing in the City of Ennis’ lawsuit against Ennis Main Street 501(c)(3), A/K/A Destination Ennis Inc., was held at 40th District Court in Waxahachie. Judge Bob Carroll met lawyers for both sides on Thursday, Oct. 2; Kevin McCurley, of Messer Fort law firm, represented City of Ennis, while Destination Ennis was the client of Marcie Schanfish.
Raburn announces run for County Judge
Ennis Mayor Kameron Raburn announced his candidacy for Ellis County Judge at the countywide Republican party meeting on October 7. The up-and-coming 31-yearold is campaigning on a track record of delivering conservative governance with a history of transparency and is committed to exposing and eliminating corruption, fraud, waste, and abuse.
