A much-improved season had an earlier than desired ending on April 29 when Ennis (19-10-1) came up short at Royse City (25-7-1), 9-3, to complete a 2-0 series loss in the Class 5A playoffs. Despite outhitting the Bulldogs in both games, 4-1 in Tuesday’s 2-1 setback, and 10-6 last Friday in Game Two, pitching walks and defensive errors proved costly for Ennis.
